Carl William Grenchik's Obituary
Carl William Grenchik, 77, a resident of Fort Myers, FL since 2005, formerly of Joliet, IL passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born June 12, 1944 in Joliet, IL to the late Joseph and Lillian Grenchik.
Carl was a proud United States Army Veteran. He lived most of his life in Illinois as an entrepreneur before moving to Florida to live out his dream of warm weather and beaches, or as he always called it, “paradise”. He loved his work as a security guard in Florida prior to his retirement. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Grenchik of New Lenox; one sister, Teresa Johnson; one brother, Robert Grenchik; as well as four grandchildren, Alli, Grace, Bree and Stephen.
Carl is survived by his three children, Jeffrey Grenchik (Amy) of Frankfort, IL, Karen Vitanovec (Steve) of Joliet, IL and Jennifer Sauter (Adam) of Naperville, IL; five grandchildren, Bailee, Ty, Lila, Marlo and Rowan; friend and former wife, Loretta Grenchik; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, specifically a very special nephew, Tim Johnson.
A Graveside service will take place with family at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL, on August 17th at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harry Chapin Food Bank, 3760 Fowler Street, Fort Myers, FL 33901.
