Carla S. Ryder's Obituary
Carla S. Ryder, 84, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, at Discovery Village. A former resident of Tecumseh, Michigan, Carla had made Fort Myers her home since 1995.
Born November 18, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marceil (Conaway) Stine. Carla led a life enriched by family, friends and service. She was a dedicated member of the Fort Myers Symphony and a devoted volunteer at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall. Her caring spirit also led her to volunteer in the NICU at Golisano Children’s Hospital, where she lovingly rocked premature infants, offering them comfort and warmth.
A recreational golfer and enthusiastic traveler, Carla cherished adventures with her husband Chuck and found her greatest joy in time spent with family and friends. Her warmth, humor, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Carla is survived by her children, Matt (Karen) Lorenzen of House Springs, MO, Amy (James) Curtis of Temecula, CA, and; her sister, Kim (Ron) Sliwa of Chicago, IL; and her beloved grandchildren, Madeleine, Mitchell, and Kassandra. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ryder; her brother, John Stine; and her sister, Bonnie Stine.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907.
