Carmelo F. Aliotta's Obituary
Carmelo F. Aliotta, a resident of Ft Myers Florida, died August 6, 2019 in Florida. Born in Corona, New York, on April 23, 1923, he was the son of Vincent and Anna Penzetta Aliotta. His brother, Fred Aliotta and sister, Theresa Palumbo predeceased him. He was married to Ann Alesio who also predeceased him.Mr Aliotta is survived by his daughters, Dorothea Bastian (Anthony), Patricia Tritto (John Leonette) and Elizabeth Roberts (Rick); 6 grandchildren, Sarah Bastian, Michael Bastian (Marissa Loon), Briana Bastian Gardner (Dan), Samuel Tritto III (Meghan Brady), and Lauren and Rebecca Roberts; and 2 great-grandchildren, Addison Gardner and Jackson Brady. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.Carm was a longtime resident of Beacon, New York. He trained as a Navy pilot during WWII. He retired from IBM Research and Development in Yorktown Heights. Carm was a pioneer in the field of electron microscopy and was awarded a patent related to his work. Carm was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing at the Southern Dutchess Country Club and in South Florida with his wife Ann.The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Ft. Myers, FL. Burial will take place in New York.
