Carmen Eva Nieves Perez's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Carmen Eva Nieves Perez
With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Carmen Eva Nieves Perez, who passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, at the age of 85.
Eva was born on May 30, 1941, in Camuy, Puerto Rico. She later made her home in Lehigh Acres, Florida, while always carrying Puerto Rico close to her heart. She was the devoted wife of the late Joaquin Nieves, with whom she built a loving family and a lifetime of cherished memories.
A dedicated stay-at-home mother and homemaker, Eva devoted her life to caring for her family. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by those she loved. She was blessed with twelve children: Jesus, Hector, Alex, Albert, Jose Jr., Joaquin, Peter, Jose, Efrain, Milta, Carmen, and Catherine. Her family continued to grow through 45 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom brought her immense pride and happiness.
One of Eva’s favorite places in the world was her farm in the mountains of Puerto Rico. She could spend an entire day there, surrounded by nature, finding peace in the beauty of the land she loved so dearly. Those moments reflected her appreciation for life’s simple blessings.
Eva will be remembered for her remarkable strength, quick sense of humor, generous heart, and caring spirit. She welcomed others, offered help without hesitation, and loved her family with unwavering devotion. Her resilience inspired those around her, and her laughter filled every room she entered.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we are grateful for the countless memories she leaves behind. Her love, wisdom, and enduring spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild, and all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
She leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, resilience, and unconditional love that will be treasured for generations to come.
