Carmen Cecilia Parrilla's Obituary
Carmen Cecilia Parrilla, 94, beloved resident of Florida since 1993 and formerly of the Bronx, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 1, 2025, in Fort Myers, FL. Born on November 22, 1930, in Puerto Rico to the late Anastacio and Carmen (Julia) Parrilla, Carmen lived a life full of love, service, and joy.
An active and dedicated parishioner at Holy Family Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie, FL, Carmen contributed her time tirelessly to the church's thrift store and fundraising efforts. Her selflessness and enthusiasm brought warmth and inspiration to her church community.
Carmen loved traveling, finding beauty and wonder in every new destination. Gardening was one of her greatest passions, and her pride and joy were her mango trees, which she lovingly tended to for years. She also had a special place in her heart for Christmas, transforming her home into a festive wonderland each year and sharing her joy with all those around her.
Carmen is survived by her four loving children, Louis Molina (Patricia) of Jacksonville, NC, William Molina of Honolulu, Hawaii, Vivian Mejias of Fort Myers, FL and Connie Galarza (David) of Long Beach, MS; five siblings, Mary Escobar, Celia Sequinot, Carlos Escobar, Gidget Encarnacion and Andrew Escobar; four grandchildren, Thomas, CJ, Shauntay and Armando; six great grandchildren, Cecilia, Aliana, Sapphire, Kanaloa, Aiden and Armani; as well as many extended family members and friends.
Carmen’s kindness, unwavering faith, and vibrant spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and community.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:00 PM, Monday, March 10, 2025 at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 13060 Palomino Lane, Fort Myers, FL 33912. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907.
