Carol Jeanne Harrington's Obituary
CAROL JEANNE (BOLLINGER) HARRINGTON MAY 31, 1946 – May 5, 2017 If you are reading this, I am now and forever at home in Heaven with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I was born May 31, 1946, to Charles Hobart Bollinger and Beverly Carroll Bollinger in North Kansas City, Missouri. At the age of five, understanding my sinful nature and Christ’s substitutionary death, I accepted Him as my Savior. I moved often growing up in Kansas City, Tulsa, New Jersey, and New York. While in college I met my future husband and lifelong partner Tom at an Intervarsity Christian Fellowship retreat. On graduation from Lindenwood College, I married the love of my life 1st Lt Thomas C. Harrington and immediately began married life in Germany where I began my lifelong dream of establishing a Christian home as a wife and mother. After Tom’s retirement from the Pentagon in 1987, we moved to Fort Myers, Florida. I was active in both military and civilian charities, military and local church activities, started and led Bible Studies, and taught Sunday School from nursery to high school girls. In 1976, for 30 years following, I began working with Stonecroft Ministries Christian Women’s Clubs. Over 47 years of marriage, we have moved 28 times and lived all over the U.S. and in Europe. God has blessed me with an amazing life. I am survived by my dear husband Tom; our son Matthew Craig Harrington and his wife Lindsey Clark Harrington and four grandchildren, Jack, Priscilla, Paul and Charlotte of Tallahassee, Florida; and one sister Sharla Wilson (Bob) of Rockdale, Texas. Private burial in Marble Hill, Missouri. Memorial Service in Fort Myers 10:00 AM, Saturday June 10, 2017, at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made by check and made out to Emmaus Bible College, and mailed to: Carol J. Harrington Book Scholarship for 1st Year Students, Emmaus Bible College Advancement Office, 2570 Asbury Road, Dubuque IA, 52001.
