Celeste and Dusty would like to share memories of their momCarol Anne ReinhardJuly 11, 1936 â?? December 11, 2014Carol arrived on July 11, 1936, in Philadelphia, PA to Kathryn and Charles Foster of 6735 Marsden St.She grew up in the Tacony section in the City of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She attended the Disston Elementary school in her early years and graduated from Lincoln High school. Carol lettered in Volleyball and Swimming teams during her four years there. During her childhood and teenage years, she kept her mom very busy along with her sister, Joyce Bramall (still in Philadelphia to this day), making outfits for the many dance recitals they danced and performed in including tap and ballet. After graduating high school she worked at her first job, Penn Mutual Life insurance in downtown Philadelphia.Their mutual friends introduced them, her friend from high school and dadâ??s buddy in the Navy. Carol and Earl corresponded for a year before meeting in person. Carol accepted Dadâ??s proposal and they married August 29, 1959 in Philadelphia. They honeymooned traveling through Cleveland and Detroit ending up in Windsor, Canada. They bought their first home on Montague Street in Philadelphia and lived there until the arrival of their first bundle of joy.On July 7, 1963, Earl Robert Reinhard, Jr. arrived. Carol nicknamed him Dusty so there wouldnâ??t be two Earlâ??s answering when she called. In 1964 Dadâ??s Company, Trailmobile, moved the family to Joppatown, Maryland, just outside of Baltimore. In 1966, on September 2, a second bundle of joy arrived by the name of Celeste Kay. Carol & Earlâ??s family was complete. Now in 1968 Earlâ??s job relocated back to Philadelphia and the family returned to their roots and settled in for the long haul in Willingboro, NJ.Carol was very involved in our schools becoming Vice President and then President of Pennypacker Park Parents Teachers Association at the elementary school. She also was an officer on the board at the A. Levitt Junior High School P.T.A. Over the years Carol also coached softball and was a judge for the townâ??s diving teams.Carol returned back to work in September, 1974 with the Willingboro Police Department as a crossing guard. She directed traffic for the students in the mornings and afternoons through all of the hot and cold weather. This led her to become a Special Police Officer which included matron duty in the department. She also worked crowd control at various high school games and events, traffic control around the town and served warrants. All of this required her to carry a gun which she qualified for year after year. She continued this career until a reorganization of the Police Department caused her to retire from Police duties. She started a job with MIC-Re, a subsidiary of General Motors. There she worked for many years with her daughter joining her there a few years later Celeste is still working there today with Ally Insurance.Carolâ??s parents used to go to Tarpon Springs every winter for three months and she liked that idea. Carolâ??s grandparents also had traveled to Florida during the winter months and thatâ??s where the tradition began. In 1991, Carol & Earl found a new love in their life, spending part of the winter in Florida. Carol & Earl liked it so much they found Tahiti Mobile Village and after a couple of winters moved there permanently. Carol and Earl traveled to Hawaii on their 25th and 35th Wedding anniversaries; she loved Hawaii, and the seashore. She loved the Jersey shore especially Seaside Park, NJ going down each summer for week(s) every year from the year she was born into her sixties. Mom loved her dogs too. She had a pet her whole life starting at the home she grew up in with Taffy the Golden Retriever in Philadelphia, Missy a little Fox terrier in Baltimore, Gypsy the Belgium Shepherd in Willingboro, followed by two rescue dogs with Shadow part Weimereiner and Honey, a Shepherd mix. Then came Tara named after the character in Gone with the Wind, a 100 pound Rottweiler that just melted in her arms. She also l
Uncle Earl, Celeste and Joe, Dusty and Jo Anne, Robert and Amanda and Joyce,We are so saddened by the sudden passing of Aunt Carol. We have such a void in our hearts, it is hard to imagine what yours must be like. I have been thinking of so many memories of her that I wanted to share with you. As a little girl of probably 7 or 8, I can still remember when Aunt Carol and Uncle Earl starting dating and thinking how beautiful she was. I have vivid memories of their wedding day a few years later, and I thought she looked like a princess with her blond hair and beautiful white dress. I think that was probably the first wedding I had ever attended and I just remember the whole family being there and dancing and dancing at the reception. When Grammy Reinhard died, she had just begun to teach me how to knit, so Aunt Elsie but especially Aunt Carol took over with the knitting lessons, and knitting has remained one of my lifelong hobbies because of the time she spent with me. I also remember Aunt Carol's patience with Celeste when Celeste was very young and loved to change outfits several times a day – a budding fashionista! Christmases especially stand out in my mind – first at Grammy and Pappy Reinhard's house, then at our house in Lansdale when they passed away, and finally at Skip and Marilyn's when we moved to Arkansas. – those Christmas gatherings with the whole family and all the noise and commotion were the best! And then our times together at the Jersey shore – it was always a treat when our family, yours and Skip and Marilyn were there at the same time. Please know that Aunt Carol and all these wonderful memories will remain with us and we send our love and condolences to all of you.Tom and Linda
