Carol Jean Roche's Obituary
Carol Jean Roche of Fort Myers, FL, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 after a brief bout with cancer.?á She is survived by her loving husband, Seymour; her son, Cliff (Vicky); her daughter, Kathy Slappey (Wayne); her grandchildren: Chris, Jennifer, Jesse and Michael and her sisters: Audrey Onspaugh (Harry) and Sue Babcock.?á She is also survived by two nephews and four nieces.?á She was predeceased by her parents, Clifford and Gladys Veith. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á Born in Meadville, PA, February 17, 1932, Carol married Seymour on September 8, 1951 and they began their life journey in Samson Air Force Base, Geneva, NY.?á After moving to Fort Myers, Carol began her career with F. W. Woolworth where she retired in 1985.?á She was an active member in the community volunteering well over 5,000 hours with Southwest Regional Hospital here in Fort Myers and the Hospital Thrift Store in Franklin, NC during the summer months.?á She was also an active member of the Page Park Community Senior Center.?á Carol also enjoyed extensive travel around the world, covering five continents. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á Friends will be received from 6 ?Çô 8 PM on Monday (TODAY) at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.?á Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908 or to the American Cancer Society. ?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á?á Arrangements are under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907, 239-936-0555.?á Online condolences may be made at: www.fortmyersmemorial.com.
