Carolina C. (Rea) Hauser's Obituary
Age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19 at her home in Ft Myers, Florida with family by her side. Carolina Christina was born in Pittsburgh, one of six children of Italia and Vincent Rea. After graduating from Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University) and marrying, Carolina settled in Cherry Hill, New Jersey where she raised 3 sons and lived for almost 40 years. Early in her career, she taught at a local preschool shaping young minds and influencing positive behaviors, which she enjoyed tremendously. Later, she worked at Campbell Soup Company in the public relations department where she could openly apply her creative talents. Carolina was active in bridge and investment clubs, as well as fulfilling her passion for skiing. She carried on her Italian traditions, especially her cooking flair learned from her mother, exposing her sons to their Italian heritage. Upon her retirement, Carolina moved to Florida to enjoy the ‘beach’ life and take up her new passion of tennis where she played both recreationally with friends and competitively in community leagues. Throughout her later years, her sons and grandchildren, along with her continued love of tennis brought her the most joy. Carolina is survived by her sons Mark (Jeanne) Hauser, Gregory (Terri) Hauser, and Douglas (Kim) Hauser; grandchildren Carl & Claire Hauser; sisters Joan (Alfred) McCabe, Tina (John) Diana, Loretta (Gregory) Kobasa; brother Dennis (Joan) Rea; and 5 nieces. Preceded in death by her parents and brother Vincent Rea, Jr. No formal services are planned at this time. Online condolences may be left at Fortmyersmemorial.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org) or Hope Hospice of Ft Myers (HopeHospice.org)
