Carolyn Zenoniani's Obituary
Carolyn was born on June 6, 1933, the middle child of a family of three, to Laurence and Helen (teller) Schultz on a farm outside Albion, Michigan. She finished school there and graduated in 1950. She then attended Western Michigan College in Kalamazoo, MI where she earned a BA Degree and an Elementary Teaching Certificate. She began her career in education in the Royal Oak School System.
On June 23, 1956, she married her 4th grade childhood friend, Lee Zenoniani. They started marriage out on Kalamazoo, where he completed college at Western Michigan, and she taught school. Life took them to Livonia, MI, where they both taught school until their children Jeffrey (1960) and Jill (1963) were born. The family moved to Northville, MI in 1966 and then to Cape Coral, FL in 1971. Following her parents' who moved to the Cape in 1965.
Carolyn began teaching again, in the Lee County School System, and went back to school to earn a master’s in administration with Nova. She spent 24 years in the Lee County School system with 22 of those years at Catoosa Elementary, Cape Coral, retiring from there in 1995.
She was also active in the community. Spending time in the Cape Coral Miniature Club, Lee County Genealogical Society, Cape Coral Caring Center, and the Cape Coral Historical Society.
She enjoyed retirement traveling, antiquing and genealogy. In 2010, Carolyn and Lee moved to Shell Point Village where they both continued an active life and continued to volunteer.
She followed the Catholic faith all her life finishing as a member of the St. Columbkille Church near Shell Point.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, an older brother, Robert and her daughter, Jill. She is survived by her loving husband, Lee (1 month shy of 68 years of marriage), a younger sister Judy & Terry Manley of Pittsfield, Vermont. Son, Jeffrey & Tracey Zenoniani of Cape Coral, Fl. Son-in-law, Randy Scott. Four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
