Catherine Garnet Bluey, wife, mom, aunt, Nana is now at peace. She passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at her home, surrounded, with love, by her husband, children, caregivers and friends.A Celebration of Life will be held, Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Thomas A. Edison Congregational Church in Fort Myers.Memorials have been suggested to CaringBridge.org or Thomas A. Edison Congregational Church Building Fund.Cathy was born on September 18, 1948 in Greensburg, PA, the daughter of Ross and Juanita (Brannon) Curry. She met the love of her life, Theodore Bluey, at the Jeannette High School library—when she should have been studying. They were married November 8, 1969.Cathy earned her RN diploma in 1969 from Montefiore Hospital School of Nursing, Pittsburgh, PA. She began her nursing career at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD. She traveled and lived all over the world—always able to bloom where she was planted. She knew how to make a house a home. Cathy never met a stranger. She worked in many areas of nursing, including: Med-Surg, family practice, pediatrics, as a school nurse and assisted living. She later earned a BSN in 2004 from Florida Gulf Coast University.Cathy is survived by her husband, Ted; children, Ted Bluey and his wife Danielle of Oakland, CA, Betsy Cook and her husband Michael of Fort Myers, FL; sister Leona Tarquinio of Myrtle Beach, SC; three grandchildren, Avery, Bennett, and Katharine; and many nieces and nephews.________________________________RESERVEDThere is a place in heaven that has been “RESERVED” for Catherine Bluey…a place specifically for mothers such as her, who lived life with love and devotion to her husband and family.And there’s a place in our hearts marked that way too, where her dear memory will be loved just as she was loved before she entered eternity.___________________________________The Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Catherine.
