Catherine A. Kellogg's Obituary
Catherine A. Kellogg, 96, died August 24, 2012, in North Naples, Florida. Mrs. Kellogg was a resident of Fort Myers for many years coming in 1965 with her late husband, John Winthrop Kellogg. Born at Matanzas in Cuba, the daughter of Carlos Arche and Corita Estrada, Mrs. Kellogg lived in Santa Clara Province and was educated at St. Genevieve’s (Carolina Day), and attended Rosemont College. When in New York, Mrs. Kellogg volunteered at Casita Maria, a group for the less fortunate.Mrs. Kellogg married John in 1941 until John died April 9, 1987. They leave Juan (Joyce) Kellogg and Christopher (Suzanne) Kellogg. A third son, Carlos A. Kellogg, died in July, 2012. Mrs. Kellogg’s grandchildren are Megan (Buffalo, NY) and Aaron (Cambridge, MA) and Abigail (Vail, CO).Mrs. Kellogg started her career work becoming a citizen while at the Lee County Sheriff’s. Later she clerked for Lee County, worked in the office of the public defender, and served both before and after John’s retirement as a translator, which she loved. Mrs. Kellogg also worked at Villas Elementary as an aide, and volunteered her time in Tice and in south Lee.For many years Mrs. Kellogg was a member of St. Francis Church.
