Cecelia May Nesmith's Obituary
Cecelia May Nesmith of North Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully while under the care of Hope Hospice in Cape Coral on Friday, March 20, 2020. She was 94 years old.
Cecelia was born in Waterford, Michigan on December 15, 1925, the beautiful daughter to Ethel May (Bradburn) and David L. Hartung. She spent much of her adult life in Hamburg, New Jersey before moving to Southwest Florida in 1986. Cecelia's 34 years in Florida were active and happy, often punctuated with visits from her loving family still living up North.
Cecelia leaves to cherish her loving memory her daughter Joyce Pape (Richard) of Toms River, NJ; son William R. Hambor (Karen Huebner) of Toms River, NJ; son Robert C. Hambor and (Colleen) of Manahawkin, NJ; daughter Debra Schilling (Robert) of Sussex, NJ; 10 grandchildren, Richie, Tammy, Katrina, John, Heather, Ed, Stacie, Rob, Travis and Scott; 15 great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Robbie, Morgan, Shelby, Sydney, Seth, Nicholas, Addison, Caitlin, Janette, Ryan, Allison, Robby, Carter and Victoria; and her brother David Hartung (Theresa) of Honesdale, PA. She also leaves behind a number of extended family members, a great multitude of friends and many more who were happy to meet her along life's journey. Sadly, Cecelia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Norman J. Nesmith and her sisters Barbretta "Shirley" Sisco and Juanita Dudley.
Cecelia's family has planned a Celebration of Life which will take place at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Friends will be welcome for Visitation which will begin an hour prior to this ceremony at 1:00 pm also inside the funeral home chapel. At the conclusion of these services, friends and family will recess to adjacent Memorial Gardens Cemetery where Cecelia will be laid to rest alongside her husband Norman inside the Mausoleum located at the Garden of Peace.
