Cecil Brown Phillips Jr's Obituary
Cecil Brown Phillips Jr., of Cape Coral, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010. He was born February 5, 1928 in Memphis, TN and moved to Cape Coral in 1988. He was an Army Veteran of WWII, retired in 1988 from Illinois Central Gulf Railroad following 40 years of service and was a member of the Gulf Coast Church of Christ.Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife of 7.5 years, Louise Phillips; his two children: Cecilia Phillips-Binder (Jeffrey) of Atlanta, GA and Carilyn Phillips Mosley (Joseph) of Atlanta, GA; two step-children: Sandra Betts Mann (Terry) of West Palm Beach, FL and Brenda Betts Garcia (Joaquin S.) of Okeechobee; his siblings: T. Herman Phillips (Jean) of Mount Juliet, TN, Gary Phillips of Bakersfield, CA Gayle Greer (Howard) of Milton , Joe Phillips (Judy) of Oakland, TN and Dwight Phillips (Debbie) of Hector, AR; a son-in-law: Greg Granger of Peachtree City, GA; grandchildren: John, Brian, Jay, Dave, Joseph, Parrish, Jason, Kevin, Ryan, Sheri, Brett and Jake; great grandchildren: Dakota, Alex, Taylor, Jackson, Rocco, Kora, Kason and Emma. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Phillips Granger in 2009.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Gulf Coast Church of Christ, 9550 Ben C. Pratt/Six Mile Cypress Parkway, Fort Myers with Minister Randy Simmons officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gulf Coast Church of Christ, 9550 Ben C.
