Charles “Chuck” Henry Houck, age 97, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
Chuck was born in Zolfo Springs, Florida on May 23, 1928. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 77 years, Esther Houck, and his son, Charles “Charlie” Houck. It brings comfort to know he went to be with the Lord and reunite with Esther on her birthday.
He is survived by his daughter, Gail Sweatland, his daughter-in-law, Pam Houck, and his siblings, Bob Bond and Gloria Brown.
Chuck was a hardworking man who dedicated over 50 years to labor-intensive work pouring concrete. He took great pride in his work and in providing for his family, leaving behind a legacy of strength, perseverance, and dedication.
He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Lisa (Mickey) O’Malley, Lynn (Aaron) Bowers, Charlene (Benny) Centeno, Erin (Matt) Toll, Daniel (Maria) Swetland, and Elizabeth (Lawrence) Willard.
Chuck was blessed with 10 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy. He will be deeply missed by the many generations who knew and loved him as “Granddaddy.”
