Ryder, Charles T's Obituary
Charles T. Ryder, 85, a beloved resident of Fort Myers, FL since 1997 and formerly of Tecumseh, MI, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, in Fort Myers. Born on December 4, 1938, in Watseka, Indiana, to the late Charles and Clara Ryder, Chuck lived a life full of dedication and service.
Chuck spent many years in management with Ford Motor Company before retiring. However, retirement didn’t slow him down. He went on to teach Electronics at the Institute of Technology in Fort Myers, served as Treasurer for the Symphony Society, and volunteered with the Florida Guardian Ad Litem, supporting the foster care system.
Chuck had a passion for both sailing and golfing, and he was known for his big heart and generous spirit. He touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carla Ryder; two children, Matt Lorenzen and his wife, Karen Hoff of House Springs, Missouri and Amy Curtis and her husband, James of Temecula, CA’ three adored grandchildren, Madeleine, Mitchell and Kassandra; as well as many extended family members and friends.
