Charles Everett Smith's Obituary
Charles Everett Smith, 85, of Fort Myers, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015. He was born February 6, 1930 in Muncie, IN and moved to Fort Myers in 1967. He was a United States Army Veteran and served during the Korean War. He was member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Community and a lifetime member of the Beloved Protective Order of Elks. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati. Mr. Smith is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, DeAnne Smith; his daughters: Deborah Messmer and husband, David of Cincinnati, OH, Denise Hollen of Port Charlotte and Danielle L. Smith of Bonita Springs; his grandchildren: Diane Smeenk, Clayton Hollen, Sarah Butz and Cody Hollen and one great grandchild, Addison Smeenk. Also surviving is his sister, Judith Johnson of Indianapolis, IN. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 6 – 8 PM in the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, August 31, 2015 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Community, 5632 Sunrise Dr., Fort Myers with burial to follow in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
