Charlotte Clutz Hirsch's Obituary
Charlotte C. Hirsch of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on Monday, August 28, 2017 following a recent injury. She was 94 years old.Charlorre was born on February 9, 1923 in New York, New York, the beautiful daughter of Kathleen (McHugh) and S. Arthur Morris. She attended medical school as an undergraduate for several years until the untimely passing of her parents required her to change plans and enter the working world. She began her career as a civilian employee of the Department of the Army where she served in a number of positions and was eventually promoted to Materials Engineer. During her career with the Army, she became the first woman to receive the Meritorious Civilian Service Award for performing her duties in an exemplary manner, setting a record of achievement, and inspiring others to improve the quantity and quality of their work and for demonstrating unusual initiative and skill in devising new and improved work methods and procedures.She leaves behind her daughter Linda B. Schott and was the proud grandmother to three grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memory are a number of extended family members, a multitude of friends and the members of her faith community at First Assembly of God Church in Fort Myers. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert who died in 1994.A Memorial Service for Charlotte will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Friends will be received for an hour preceding this service beginning at 10:00 AM also inside the funeral home chapel.
