Charlotte W. Dix's Obituary
Charlotte W. Dix, 77, of N. Fort Myers, FL, died December 8, 2015 at Health Park Hospital in Fort Myers. Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial gathering will be privately announced at a later date. Memorials have been suggested to the Salvation Army. Charlotte was born September 15, 1938 in Steubenville, OH, the daughter of Paul Lee Roy and Virginia (Willis) Grimm. On June 29, 1962 in Roanoke, VA, she married Robert “Barney” Dix. Charlotte had earned an Associate’s Degree in Interior Design from Columbus Arts. She was a wonderful artist and enjoyed painting and decorating homes. She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed participating in Mahjong Club. She was also an avid golfer and tennis player. Surviving are her husband, Robert “Barney” Dix; children Kirk Bernhard and his wife Erin of Cape Coral, FL, Marilu Bernhard of N. Fort Myers, FL; siblings Gary Grimm and his wife Barbara of Fort Myers, FL, Dean Gilkerson of Columbus, OH; Niece Paula Hearl, her husband Tom and their son Trevor of Cape Coral, Fl; grandchildren, Bryce Compton and Nikki of Fort Myers, FL, Stephanie Ludwig of St. Petersburg, FL and great-grandchild, Landon of St. Petersburg, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Carol Gesualdo, Chuck Grimm and Judy Gilkerson. The Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Charlotte.
