Chipley Harold Algar, 71, of Arcadia, FL died February 29, 2016 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL. Military rites will be conducted 3:00 PM, Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL, 33907. Memorials: Salvation Army. Chipley was born February 5, 1945, in Pensacola, FL, the son of Harold and Merle (Cartwright) Algar. He married Virginia Kenley on May 28, 1969 in Bradenton, FL. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. As a civilian Chipley was an electrician and served with Bridgeman Electric and Peoples Electric retiring in 1983. Surviving are his wife Virginia; son, John Algar and his wife Ursula of Port Charlotte, FL; siblings, Albert Algar and his wife Clair of Washington, NC, Loretta Conley of Bradenton, FL, Audrey Garrison and her husband Jim of Gainesville, FL; three grandchildren, Carissa Flores, Jacklyn Algar, John Nathan Algar and five great-grandchildren. Preceding in death are his parents and one brother, Edward. The Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Chipley.
