Christina B. Hillsman's Obituary
Christina B. Hillsman, 92, of Fort Myers peacefully passed away on July 9, 2023. Christina was born October 24, 1930, to Martin and Helena (Post) Burik in Chicago, IL
Christina lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed many things, most of all her family and friends. She loved cooking and entertaining and was known for her wonderful meals, parties, and of course, martinis! She had a quick wit and the ability to make people feel special. She was fortunate to enjoy traveling throughout her life, but loved being home. She loved spending time with all of her grandchildren and great- grandchild. She expressed unbelievable joy in becoming a “GG”! Christina will be greatly missed, but her motto will continue to be followed by her loved ones- “Laissez les bons temps rouler!”
Christina is preceded in her passing by her loving husband of 42 years William Hillsman, her parents, her sisters Elsie (Roland) Peronto, Marlyn (Pat) Kolinsky, and Bonnie Graser.
Christina leaves her loving memory with her survivors, brothers Martin (Jan) Burik of Baldwin City, KS and Richard Burik of Fort Myers, FL; son Burton (Liz) Young of Des Plaines, IL; stepdaughters Charity (David) Vitale of Glencoe, IL; Eleanor (Tom) Klosterman of Oberlin, OH; Patricia (Miles) Pollok of Flower Mound, TX; stepsons William Hillsman of Minneapolis, MN; Thomas (Emily) Hillsman of Dallas, TX; Dr. Robert Hillsman of Las Vegas, NV; James (Teresa) Hillsman of Fort Myers, FL; John (Jayne) Hillsman of Pawleys Island, SC; Michael Hillsman of Carmel, IN; her thirteen grandchildren Bill, Laura (Zaki), Michelle, Emitom, Angela, Tyler (Mary Allen), Alec (Julie), Hunter, Madeline, Max, Samantha, Cameron and Andrew; and her great- grandchild Sharif.
Christina’s family has entrusted Fort Myers Memorial Gardens with the care of her final arrangements. A Celebration of Life will be held in the fall of this year.
