Christine H. Anderson's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christine H. Anderson, 86, of Fort Myers, Florida. Christine is survived by her husband of more than 66 years, David L. Anderson, their daughter, Cheryl Kaake and her husband Michael of New Hampshire, their son, Bart Anderson and his wife Megan of Sydney, Australia. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Jennifer, Joshua and Aiden.
Christine was born in Rutland, Vermont on May 24, 1934 to Hubert H. and Marion B. Hinds. She graduated from Rutland High School and went on to complete Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston, where she met her husband David. Christine and David settled in Ansonia Connecticut, and spent many happy years there raising their children. Christine was very involved with the church choir, and also enjoyed making floral arrangements. She and David later began traveling the country in their motor home and enjoyed exploring new places and meeting new people everywhere they went. Christine enjoyed finding special Christmas ornaments from each place that she visited and sent them to her Grandchildren each year.
Christine and David eventually settled in the Heritage Palms community in Fort Myers, Florida, where they attended Covenant Presbyterian Church. Christine enjoyed singing in the church choir and treasured the memories she shared with her friends at Covenant. Christine also volunteered for over 30 years with VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program), and had great satisfaction from her work with the many people she helped over the years.
Christine had an infectious laugh that lit up any room she entered, and we will miss her dearly. A service of interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
