Christine Ann Garland's Obituary
Christine Ann Garland, 56, of Cape Coral, passed away Monday, November 25, 2019. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland and came to Cape Coral in 1969. Oldest daughter of Annie Doninger and survived by two sisters Jane Marie Garland and Tracy Lynn Garland both of Fort Myers, as well as Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and her Godparents Aunt June and Uncle John (her other mother and father).
Chrissy shared a special relationship with her two sisters and the three were known as the Garland Girls. She had a heart of gold and loved making everyone around her happy. She didn’t know a stranger and took the time to make anyone around her feel special. She had a bubbly and pleasing personality loyal to all her many friends.
Chrissy loved her cats Samantha Jo, Tosha Kid and most currently, her little Wo, Tabitha.
She also loved and was an Aunt to her sisters’ cats Johnboy, How You Been, Mister, Kilkenny, Boots and dog Silwee Girl.
Chrissy was very creative and had a remarkable talent for drawing and a passion for cooking. She enjoyed the beach, lying out in the sun and was a big NASCAR fan with Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. as her favorite drivers. She spent her career in real estate working as a title agent and in retail, working for Piercing Pagoda at the Edison Mall. Her caring, outgoing nature made her successful and liked by all she worked with.
Chrissy was young at heart and would say she was a child of the 80’s. She loved Steve Perry-Journey and John Lennon-the Beatles. Whenever the song Imagine or any Journey song played everyone who knew her, thought of her.
Chrissy never wanted for much, just what she needed to get by. It was more important for her to give to others. She didn’t fuss about things and was very easy going. Or in her words; “I’m easy like Sunday morning.”
A Celebration of Life for Chrissy will be held on Saturday, January 25th from 2:00 to 5:30 at the Cottage/Shuckers restaurant on Fort Myers Beach, on the sand next to the corn hole boards. All are welcome to come celebrate and share in remembering Chrissy.
