Chris Billett, 51, died unexpectedly in his home on June 4, 2017 in Ft. Myers, Florida.?á?á Chris was born on September 7, 1965 at the Naval Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina.?á Chris grew up in a military family and moved around the US and overseas until settling in Ft. Myers where he graduated high school from Ft. Myers High in 1983.?á He graduated from the University of Florida in 1987.?á Chris obtained a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life Chiropractic College West in San Mateo, CA in 1996, and provided professional chiropractic services in private practice until 2001.?á?á?á Chris married the love of his life, Lynn (Lamm) Billett, on the beach in Hawaii on September 15, 2001.?á They worked, lived and loved in Sacramento, CA, for several years before welcoming two children into the world.?á The family re-located in 2011 to Ft. Myers, with Chris, after retiring from private practice, staying at home to care for and home school the children, while Lynn developed a career as a holistic, family nurse practitioner. Chris had a fabulous smile and funny streak that always left an impression on people. He was a gentle soul and very loyal to family and friends.?á He cherished his kids and wife. Chris loved animals and frequently had a trusted K-9 companion by his side. Chris was an avid outdoorsman and athlete, frequently fishing, camping, hiking and kayaking his way through the mountains and oceans on the east and west coasts of America. In his youth, he played team sports including hockey and football, and varsity baseball at Ft. Myers High and enjoyed working out at the gym. Through adulthood, he remained active, preferring the outdoors, and hanging with friends and family, always on the look-out for another hill or path to climb and inspect; a creek or marsh to paddle through; and a ball or rock to throw.?á At 51, Chris still had his beach body and could often be seen doing handstands on the beach or in the yard at home teaching his kids how to do a back flip.?á?á Chris, you will always be remembered, with that wonderful smile, a hilarious event taking place, and your kind and gentle, loving ways.?á You will be sorely missed.?á?á Chris is survived and loved dearly by his wife, Lynn, and children, Drew and Serena, of Ft. Myers; his father, David Billett Sr., and mother, Elvira (Tink) Billett of Coral Springs, FL; sister, Mary Billett Walters (Ray) of Ft. Myers/St. Louis, MO; brother, David Billett Jr. of Midlothian, VA; nieces, Megan Iwanowski of Los Angeles, Deanna Billett of Midlothian, VA; and nephews, Charlie Parker of Ft. Myers, David Billett, III of Midlothian, VA. Family and friends will celebrate Chris’s life on Saturday June 10 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fort Myers Memorial gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33907.?á Private burial service will be held at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens.?á?á?á
