Christopher William Cann's Obituary
Christopher William Cann, 61, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, at Hope Hospice, surrounded by love.
Born November 28, 1964, in Toms River, New Jersey, Christopher was the beloved son of William and Theresa (Dalia) Cann. He was raised in Roselle, New Jersey, and also spent part of his childhood in Fort Myers, a place that always felt like home. In 1995, he returned to Fort Myers permanently, where he built a life grounded in family, friendship, and dedication to his work.
Christopher devoted his professional career to NOVA Engineering, where he proudly served as a Lab Manager, a role he continued to hold until his passing. He was respected for his knowledge, work ethic, and commitment.
A die-hard New York Giants fan, Christopher rarely missed a game and followed his team with unwavering loyalty. He was an avid fisherman, happiest when near the water, and was always well informed and eager to discuss current events. Music was another lifelong passion—he especially loved 1970s and 1980s rock, which could often be heard playing when he was relaxing or spending time with family.
Above all, Christopher was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marie Lynn Cann; his loving children, William Cann of Emmaus, Pennsylvania; Jessica Cann of Fort Myers, Florida; Christopher Cann of Fort Myers, Florida; and Charles Cann of Fort Myers, Florida; his mother, Theresa Cann of Orlando, Florida; brothers, Michael Cann of New Jersey and Matthew (Meghan) Cann of Florida; and sisters, Barbara (Richard) Vella of Roselle, New Jersey, and Joyce Kelly of Toms River, New Jersey.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Cann; his sister, Deborah Ferenzi; and his brother, Thomas Cann.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907. A funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow.
