Christopher Aaron Stafford's Obituary
Christopher Aaron Stafford, 83, passed away peacefully at Hope Hospice House early on the morning of Tuesday, January 4, 2011 with his daughters at his side.?á Chris was a Florida native, the son of the late James and Olga Stafford.?á He attended Edison Park Elementary School, Fort Myers Junior High School and graduated president of his class in 1945 from Fort Myers Senior High School.?á On August 6, 1945, he enlisted in the United States Navy.?á While at boot camp during WWII, the bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan and he was promptly shipped to Japan to participate in clean-up and reconstruction.?á Upon his return to Fort Myers he graduated from Edison College.?á He then began work with his long time school teacher and friend, Kathleen Westbrook, at Coley Westbrook Men?ÇÖs and Boy?ÇÖs Wear, a career which continued through 1990.?á In 1996, Chris became active in Alcoholics Anonymous and enjoyed eleven plus years ?áwith the Yanna Group in Fort Myers.?á He was a treasured member who brought friendship and inspiration to many.?á Chris is pre-deceased by his parents and siblings Margaret, Elsie, Ella and Harold Stafford.?á He is survived by Burlien Stafford and their daughters, Kristin Stafford (Paul) Scott and Jan Stafford Davis, his grandchildren, LeElla Scott, Brandon Stafford (Cara) Davis, Erin Davis and Christopher Scott;?á his two great grandchildren, Kellen Stafford Davis and Gillian Paige Davis;?á He is also survived by his sister, Pearl (J.B.) Jones, and his nephew Carl (Wilma) Eschman.?á An outdoor memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 11:00 AM, at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL. 33907.?á Followed by a reception at the home of Mary Fox and Dennis Raymond at 1318 La Faunce Way, Fort Myers, FL 33919.?á In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hope Hospice House, 2430 Diplmat Parkway E.,?á Cape Coral, FL 33909.?á Online condolences may be made to the family at: www.fortmyersmemorial.com.?á Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is assisting the family.
