Clara A. Colombo's Obituary
Clara A. Colombo of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday, April 8, 2018 following some recent health challenges. She was 104 years old. Clara was born on September 13, 1913 in Des Moines, Iowa, the beautiful daughter of Victoria (Fiori) and Santo Battani. She grew up in Michigan and was the last surviving of five children. She spent her working life in retail and retired as an Assistant Buyer for Sak’s Fifth Avenue. She was the devoted wife to Louis John Colombo who sadly passed away in 1998. She was a resident of Florida for almost 50 years, first settling in the Lakeland area where she and Lou were active members of the Lone Palm Country Club. Left to cherish her loving memory are her sons Louis Colombo (Linda) of Venice, FL and Denver, CO and Robert Colombo (Lori) of Atlanta, GA and daughter Sharon Presutti of Fort Myers, FL. Clara also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, a number of extended family members and a great many more people who proudly called her a friend. Sadly, she was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Marie Colombo, the beloved wife of her son Louis and by her son-in-law Aldo Presutti, the beloved husband to her daughter Sharon. Clara left a long and proud legacy and will be greatly missed. Cremation Rites will be accorded and Clara will be laid to rest in Illinois alongside her departed husband Louis following the celebration of a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 36 N.
