Clarence Warren Walkup's Obituary
Clarence Warren Walkup, of Dayton, passed away on May 11, 2026, at the age of 43. While our hearts are broken, anyone who knew Clarence knows he would not want us sitting around being sad for too long. He would probably tell us all to “eat my shorts” and crack a joke to make everyone laugh.
Clarence was the kind of person who lived life wide open and full throttle. He was fearless, adventurous, stubborn at times, and always the first one ready for a good time. Whether he was riding side-by-sides through the mud, out on the water fishing, cruising in his trucks, riding motorcycles, or adding another hat to his collection, Clarence enjoyed every moment life had to offer.
He worked as a crane operator and took pride in working hard and taking care of the people he loved. But above all else, Clarence loved being a dad. His daughter, Ann Marie Walkup, was the center of his world, and everyone who knew him heard him proudly say, “Daddy loves you Monkadoodle.”
Clarence leaves behind his daughter, Ann Marie Walkup; his mother, Juanita Lynn Buckner; his father, Paul Leslie Buckner; sisters Sarah Ann Buckner and Kelly Rebecca Buckner; brothers Andrew Landis Buckner and Ryan James Dallas Buckner; his great aunt Betty Mizzel; uncle Clarence Haynes Walkup and wife Pamela Walkup; grandmother Iris Ann Walkup; along with many nieces, nephews, family members, and lifelong friends who all have stories they’ll be telling for years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Danielle Lee Walkup; his brother, Victor Micheal Buckner; and his grandmother, Alice Sarah Keyes.
Clarence had a way of making people laugh, showing up when someone needed him, and turning ordinary moments into unforgettable memories. The world feels a little quieter without him in it, but we know somewhere he’s raising hell, collecting hats, finding the biggest mud hole around, and keeping everyone entertained.
Ride fast, fish often, and save us a seat up there, Clarence. You’ll always be loved, missed, and remembered.
