Conley Hensley's Obituary
Conley “Bob” Hensley, 84, of Fort Myers, passed quietly late Friday afternoon at the Hope Hospice House in Fort Myers. Both Greg and Bob were able to be with their father in his last hours. Family and other close friends were close by over the past several weeks. We love him and will miss his smile, quick wit and the bounce in his step.Bob served his country proudly when he enlisted in February, 1944, into the United States Navy, and received a Honorable Discharge in January 1946. He served in WWII on the USS Highlands, and fought in many battles including Okinawa and Iwo Jima.He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Hensley. He is survived by his children, Greg Hensley (Nan), and Robert Hensley (Elise Thornley), Belinda Humphrey); 1 sister, Vera Hensley and 3 grandchildren, Kayla Hensley Kristen Hensley and Robert Thornley.Family and friends are invited to visit at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, November 9, 2009 from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on the following Tuesday, at the funeral home at 12:00 PM.
