Constance "Connie" McKean's Obituary
Constance J. “Connie” McKean of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015 after a lengthy yet courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 26, 1941 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to the late John and Frances Razny. Connie graduated from West Penn Nursing School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During her life she worked in many fields as a Registered Nurse including Geriatrics, Teenage Drug Dependency, and Worker’s Compensation. She also worked part time as a concierge with the Sanibel Harbor Resort. However, her real joy in life was raising her daughters and helping them raise their children. She was affectionately known as “Mimi” to her grandchildren. Connie leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband James McKean; two daughters, Kimberly S. (Timothy) Rieu of West Friendship, Maryland and Jodi L. (Michael) Braucher of North Canton, OH and; one sister, Donna Lundy of New Orleans, Louisiana; six grandchildren, Nicole, Alexis, and Kayla Rieu of West Friendship, Maryland and Morgan, Kyle, and Zachary Braucher of North Canton, Ohio. Visitation will be 6pm – 8pm Friday, October 9, 2015 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home 1589 Colonial Boulevard Fort Myers, FL 33907. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2015 at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 13060 Palomino Lane Fort Myers, Florida 33912. Interment will follow at the Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Myers, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Connie’s honor may be made to The Institute of Cancer Care at Mercy Medical Center, Baltimore, Maryland / www.heat-it.org.
