Cosmas Zachariades' Obituary
Cosmas?á Zachariades, 89, a resident of Cape Coral, Florida and formerly of Atlantic City and Northfield, NJ passed away on the morning of September 11th at home with his family by his side.?á?á He was born in 1922 in Smyrna, Turkey.?á Weeks later his widowed mother was forced to flee to Chios, Greece.?á The family then moved to Thessaloniki, Greece where he spent his youth. He proudly served in the Greek Army during World War II and the Greek Civil War.?á He came to the United States in 1957 when he met and married the love of his life, Marion.?á They shared ?á53 wonderful years together.?á He owned and operated several restaurants and later worked as a chef specializing in Italian cuisine.?á In 2003, Cosmas and Marion moved to Cape Coral, Florida, which he called ?Ç£Paradise?Ç¥.?á He is survived by his beloved wife, Marion; his children, Georgia Z. Beit, Northfield, NJ, Peter(Donna) Zachariades of Egg Harbor Township, NJ;?á grandsons, Justin(Karen) Beit, Zachary Zachariades and Matthew Zachariades.?á In addition, he will be sorely missed by his extended family and friends.?á He will forever be remembered for his love of life, his positive outlook and love for his family. Memorial viewing will be held Friday, September 16 at 12:15 at the Annunciation Church with services following at 1:00 pm at 8210 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33191.?á Interment?á to follow at Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33907.?á In lieu of flowers, a gift can be made to: Hope Hospice 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908; Annunciation Church(see above), Holy Trinity Church 7004 Ridge Ave. Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234.
