Dane F. Branson's Obituary
Dane F. Branson, 90, of Fort Myers, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, September 16, 2012.?á He was born February 1, 1922 in Paris, IL and moved to Fort Myers from Robinson, IL in 1970.?á?á ?á?á?á?á ?Ç£Capt.?Ç¥ Branson leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 57 years, Marcella Branson; his children: Brad Branson (Barbie) of Cape Coral and Mitzi Johnson (Kevin) of Tampa and his four grandchildren: Amanda, Amber, Brandon and Dallas. ?á?á?á?á Dane grew up in the Depression era with his Dad – a railroad foreman, Mom, and 12 siblings.?á He had a gift with people and quickly honed those skills into sales, hosting a radio show, leading a big band, fronting a country/western band, and serving as a Crawford County deputy sheriff during the sixties, achieving the rank of Captain.?á A nickname that stuck for the remainder of his life. ?á?á?á?á Dane moved his family to Fort Myers and worked as a life insurance sales representative, retiring from Independent Life as a top agent.?á He was responsible for naming Eastwood Golf Course.?á He was quite the auctioneer landing a spot in a national Nutra-Sweet commercial.?á Dane was recognized by WBBH as a ?Ç£Good Neighbor?Ç¥ volunteering with students at Franklin Park Elementary.?á ?á?á?á?á He was an active member of McGregor Baptist serving as a Pastor prayer partner and in the foreign ships ministry wanting others to experience salvation in Jesus Christ.?á The ?Ç£Capt.?Ç¥ was?á a loving husband, father, and friend always ready to help someone in need and lift the spirits of those around him.?á?á ?á?á?á?á Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev.
