Daniel "Danny" Boback's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our son Daniel Boback. Though he seemed to be “running late” for most events in life, he beat us all to heaven. It must be the competitive athlete in him. Danny just celebrated his 32nd birthday. Daniel Boback, “Danny,” to all those who knew and loved him, was a Bishop Verot graduate of the class of 2003. Before attending Bishop Verot, Danny solidified many lifelong friendships at St. Francis Xavier, where he attended from kindergarten through 8th grade. While at Bishop Verot, Danny was admired by his peers as both an Honors student and a standout on the football and baseball fields. On the football field, Danny cemented his name in the Bishop Verot record books for both tackles in a game and tackles in a season. In his senior season, Danny would receive All-County and All-State recognition as a dominant middle linebacker as well as being named a starter at the Culligan All-Star Football Classic. Danny’s achievements in the classroom and on the football field earned him a four year scholarship at Elon University in North Carolina, where he continued his remarkable football career and earned his degree in Finance. Post graduate worked earned him an MBA from nearby Lenoir-Rhine University. Danny is remembered by his family, friends, teachers, coaches and the entire Bishop Verot family as an example of what a true Viking graduate should be. Aside from his accomplishments, Danny defined what it meant to be genuine, kind, selfless, loyal, and true. He was also a true Miami Hurricane football fan. Go Canes! Danny’s passing is mourned by many, as he touched the lives of all those he met. Let us celebrate Danny’s life and his homecoming to be with our Lord. Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating his life and how he touched all of us. There will be a Memorial Mass and service at 9:30 AM, Saturday, September 24th, at St Francis Xavier Church, 2157 S. Cleveland Avenue, Ft. Myers, FL 33901, followed by placement in his final resting place at Memorial Gardens,1589 Colonial Blvd. Ft. Myers, FL 33907. A reception at Bishop Verot High School cafeteria, 5598 Sunrise Drive, Ft. Myers, FL 33919 will take place immediately following. Everyone is welcome to attend so please join us in this celebration.
