Daniel A Cody's Obituary
Daniel A. Cody, 80, a cherished resident of Fort Myers, FL since 1948, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 29, 2025, in Fort Myers. Born on June 3, 1944, in Pittsburgh, PA, Dan was the beloved son of the late George and Jean (Sherba) Cody.
Dan dedicated many years of his life to Publix, where he served as a Market Manager, offering kindness and leadership to colleagues and customers alike until his well-earned retirement at the age of 55.
A devoted sports fan, Dan cheered passionately for Florida State University, the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Buccaneers. His enthusiasm was infectious, and his knowledge of the games made every conversation richer.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia Cody of Fort Myers, FL; two daughters, Nichole Cody (Christopher) of Dripping Springs, TX and Jennifer Grabill (Ethan) of Tampa, FL; one brother, James Cody of Fort Myers, FL; three grandchildren, Emmerson Grace, Hayes and Rubi; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 31, 2025, at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 3595 Broadway, Fort Myers, FL 33901.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Lutheran Church and/or St. Michael Lutheran School.
Dan was truly one of a kind. His warmth, humor, and unwavering love for the things that brought him joy made an indelible mark on those who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
