Daniel Hughes Webster's Obituary
Daniel H Webster, Jr. was born on November 14, 1931 in Newark, NJ. He died on February 3, 2015 in Hope Hospice, Cape Coral after battling cancer. He is survived by his wife Audrey Webster of AZ, daughters Diane Webster of Cape Coral, Patricia Racaniello of Kenebunk, ME, Wendy Webster Good and husband Timothy of Kenneunkport, ME and sisters Carol Webster Brooks of Lakewood, NJ and Lauren Webster-Garcia and husband Robert Garcia of Morristown, NJ as well as 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents Mildred and Daniel Webster and son Alan.Dan lived the majority of his life in northern NJ where he owned several small businesses before retiring to Florida. He was a member of the Mt Kemble Fire Department in Morristown, NJ, celebrating his 50th anniversary with them in 2014. He was also a long time member of the Eagles and VFW as well as other organizations.Dan enlisted in the National Guard following graduation from the Bayley School in Morristown in 1948. His unit was sent to Fort Knox, KY where he served during the Korean Conflict and was discharged in 1955.He will be remembered for his strong personality, sense of humor, commitment to helping others and his love of animals.Dan’s family is grateful to Robert Leland of North Fort Myers, his companion, caregiver and friend without whom Dan would not have been able to travel and live independently in the last years of his life. Thanks also to Holly who provided a new home for Daisey the pit bull and Pete who adopted “birdie” the cockatiel.At Dan’s request there will be no formal funeral service.
