Danny Lee Balensiefer's Obituary
Danny “Dan” Balensiefer, 52, of Earl Park, IN, passed away, Tuesday, April 14th, 2015 in Ft. Myers, Florida. A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 pm, Friday, April 16th, at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 3595 Broadway, Fort Myers, FL 33901. Pastor John Hafer will be officiating, with a reception to follow. Dan was born July 9th, 1962 in Lafayette, IN to Frank and Laura (Garrett) Balensiefer. He graduated from Benton Central High School in 1980 and honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1982-84. Dan impacted all those he encountered with his warmth and enthusiasm, traits he carried from his extraordinarily loving family. He valued above all else his children; he took pride particularly in their selflessness and willingness to love and give with their whole hearts to others as he did. Dan was actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America Troop 193 of Ft. Myers. He also found sanctuary in his involvement with the Bonita Springs Great Banquet community and his mission work through St. Michael’s. Dan was an avid Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan, as well as a great music lover, spending much time singing while spending time with his family. Dan is survived by his parents, his girlfriend of 6 years, Lisa Moding (son Michael), his son, U.S. Army Sgt. Tyler Stephen Balensiefer (Kayla) of Fort Bliss, El Paso, TX, his four daughters, Chelsey Elizabeth Balensiefer of Indianapolis, IN, Aubrey Marie Balensiefer of Wolcott, IN, Megan Ryan Moffitt of Lafayette, IN, and Emma Jewel Balensiefer of Lafayette, IN, his three sisters, Kelly Balensiefer of Earl Park, IN, Joye Fisher (Aaron) of Lafayette, IN, and Cheryl Coy (Rodney) of Earl Park, IN, and several beloved nieces and nephews.
