Danny Andrew Williamson's Obituary
Danny Andrew Williamson, 74, of Fort Myers, passed away Friday, August 6, 2021 following an extended illness. He was born December 1, 1946 in Passaic, NJ, to Albert and Ruth (Glendinning) Williamson. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict.
In 2004, he and Jennifer moved to Fort Myers from New England.
Dan is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jennifer L H Williamson, daughters Sarah (Dennis) Moody, Elizabeth Williamson (William Thompson) and Julia Williamson (David White), his father, Albert Williamson, siblings Christie Williamson, Robyn (Tyrone) Johns, and Rick (Michaele) Williamson, and nine grandchildren: the Moodys: Taylor, Aidan, Michael, Olivia, Sophie and Ava and the Ritz-Williamsons: Seamus, Rei and Owen. He will be dearly missed by William G Hurst, Mary Lou Morrison, Susan (Dick Balkite), Michael Hurst, Renee Hurst, Carol (Dave) Belcher, Linda Morrison Collins and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother, Ruth Williamson.
Dan was an active member in the Episcopal church. His talent as a musician (guitar and trumpet) and his wonderful paintings were appreciated by all. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed Monty Python, BBC mystery and action films. He was a wonderful cook and was a history buff with a focus on the Civil war and WWII. He was very involved in the Veterans Administration hospital and their programs and had many friends there.
Services will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Iona Hope Episcopal Church at 10:30 a.m., Fort Myers, Florida with a reception to follow at Jamaica Bay Clubhouse from 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., Fort Myers, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are appreciated to the Gary Sinise Foundation for Veterans (Garysinisefoundation.org) or to the Memorial Gardens at Iona Hope Episcopal Church.
