Darlene Ann DiStefano's Obituary
With tremendous sadness our family announces the passing of our beloved sister, wife, mother, aunt, godmother, grandma, and friend, Darlene DiStefano, on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. Darlene was the oldest daughter of the late Frederick and Evelyn Moffitt of Fort Myers, FL. Darlene grew up in Franklin, MA and graduated from Franklin High School in 1970. Darlene was an adventurous, independent, fun-loving soul who lived life to the fullest. She moved from her hometown of Franklin to California a few years after graduation. Her passion was cooking and she quickly put her talents to work for St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Burbank, CA, finishing her career as a Food Services Supervisor. She grew her passion into a fulfilled career. While in California, she enjoyed many outings to Hollywood landmarks and everything Lucille Ball, with family and friends.
Darlene moved to Florida in 2009 where her parents and siblings eventually followed by 2011. We were blessed as a family to spend the last 12 years together in Florida.
Darlene loved her fur babies, Pixie and Cabot, both mini poodles. She also enjoyed creating painted and colored medallions and artwork. She also was an “expert” shopper and spent her free time in thrift stores or on Amazon. She enjoyed cruising the World with her beloved husband Dominic. Most recently, they cruised to Italy to meet and visit with Dominic’s family. It was the greatest adventure of her life, visiting all the beauty of Italy with the love of her life. When she wasn’t cruising, Darlene could be seen riding around town in her red Corvette. As an avid Corvette lover, she owned several Corvettes since the 1980s.
Darlene was the kindest, thoughtful and loving person to her family and friends. If you met her, you instantly loved her. Her presence and loving spirit will be greatly missed.
Darlene is survived by her husband Dominic, brother Dr. Brian Moffitt and husband Juan Pablo Diez Chavez of Cape Coral, FL, sister Dr. Tisa Morrissette and husband Jacques of Fort Myers, FL, step son Salvatore DiStefano and partner Mike Burlew of Cape Coral, FL, nieces Jen Eloge and husband Byron of Lincoln NE, Aimee Morrissette and partner Steve Paley of Live Oak, FL, and step grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, cousins, and many friends.
