I only learned of Dr. Scherr's death today but I deeply mourn his passing. He was my doctor and I have never had such a kind, attentive, informed doctor as he was. He diagnosed me with a rare circadian disorder after a decade of struggling to get other doctors to listen to me and give me the referral I needed. He was smart, funny, and compassionate and my heart goes out to his family, friends, and colleagues. God broke the mold when He made Dr. Scherr.
Dr. Scherr was my sleep Dr. He took extra time with me He told me I was a special case which was why he took me on. When I visited him for appointments I could always be sure we would laugh, get helpful advise, hear fascinating stories about his practice and learn about him and his life , He had such a passion for living and learning that it was infectious. He said what he meant and I loved that in him I was simply a patient but being so proud of his family he showed us pics and told us all about them and how wonderful they were to him. We send our sympathy to the family he loved so much and Thankyou for sharing him with all of us patients for I am sure we all benefitted greatly by having him for our Dr. We send our prayers and heartfelt sympathy to his loved ones Michael and Cathy Bostwick

Well, I have to laugh a bit. I was going to type that Dr. Scherr treated me so special and promised not to give up until he figured out what was wrong with me and that he did figure it out and that he took special time with me because I was special…turns out after reading all the other stories here he treated us all like we were his only concern! THAT is who is was. I cried all morning when I heard and tears flow now as I type. Daron you were meant to be here for all of us and we will have a void in our lives with you gone. Mrs. Scherr, I am the lady who threw my arms around your husband when the two of you were walking at the fair. I hugged you and told you thank you for sharing him with us and kissed him on the cheek. ?? I was so grateful you didn't just clean my clock !I have no idea how his family and co-workers will move through this but I wish them peace. Dr Scherr was a man who truly and deeply cared. I feel blessed that he was my Dr, my friend and a man that could make me laugh no matter what life threw at me. He went above and beyond the normal Dr/patient relationship. He would tease and make fun of me in way that made me smile. I will miss his hugs and smile. But most of all, I will miss his passion for life and helping other people. My heart goes out to his family, friends, his entire staff, and his patients. We are all better people for having him in our lives. God bless you Doc.
I am so shocked to hear my Dr pass away.He was the one who incouraged me to lose weight .He was a great guy. I will truly miss him.May you rest in peace young man.
