My favorite memory of Darren is a true example of his personality and sense of humor.
I have come to know Darren from Sunfish sailing and living on Pine Island.
The lifestyle here seemed to suit him!
During the afternoons on the water Darren seemed to find plenty of joy in razing me during the races.... all in good heart. Honestly, I never had much to come back with, until one day....
One day I was in town running some errands and ran into a store and back out to my car in 5 minutes,
There was a note on the car telling me how “Island fine” I was and that the gals name was Cindy and she worked at Ulta. I thought this very odd, standing next to my car looking around totally perplexed. In that moment, it was time to get out of there! As I am sitting at the light to leave the center, someone is honking at me. As I look around there is Darren and Natasha in the truck. Darren is cracking up 😂, because he was bored while waiting for Natasha and I happened along so he decided to become “Cindy”!
From that day forward, I always got to call out to “Cindy” as we sailed past one another...
Darren will be missed by many, I am deeply saddened by the loss and my condolences to his family.
