David Daniel Anthony's Obituary
David Daniel “Dave” Anthony, 56, of Cape Coral, Florida, died unexpectedly of a heart attack on March 9, 2021 while working at his Air Conditioning business.
Dave was born August 21, 1964 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Bruce Sr and Marilyn (Olson) Anthony. Growing up, he and his family lived in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Florida. He graduated from Fort Myers High School in 1983 and Fort Myers Technical College for Air Conditioning and HVAC in 1984. On November 30, 1985, he married Cyndy Hopkins in Fort Myers, Florida.
He was Senior technician at Modern Air Conditioning for 21 years and taught HVAC at the Tri-County Apprenticeship Program from 1996-2010. In 2005 he and his wife Cyndy started Anthony Air Conditioning Service in Cape Coral.
Dave was a man of deep faith who loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time with his family and his beloved dog Brownie. Dave had a kind and gentle spirit and was always helping others. He taught and mentored many men in the air conditioning business in the Lee County, Florida area.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Cyndy Anthony, sons David Christopher and Daniel Walter Anthony, both of Cape Coral, father Bruce Anthony Sr. of Estero, Florida, brother Bruce Anthony Jr. (Lori) of Pine River, Minnesota, sisters-in-law Mary (Dave) Kistel of Fort Myers, Florida and Beth (John) Acampora of Jacksonville, Florida, niece Katie Kistel of Fort Myers, Florida, nephews Jacob (Ali) Kistel of Estero, Florida, Joshua (Rebecca) Anthony of Apple Valley, Minnesota, David Walter Anthony of Pine River, Minnesota, Caleb Anthony of Knoxville, Tennessee, Nikolis and Aiden Acampora, both of Jacksonville, Florida, great-nephews Kjaerli Anthony and Carson Kistel, uncles and aunts David (Sue) Olson, Pauline (Skip) Kulle, Doug (Ginny) Anthony, Dotti Anthony, Joe (Shari) Anthony, along with his cousins and many friends.
Dave was preceded in death by his mother Marilyn Anthony, grandparents Walter and Margaret Olson and Joseph and Ruth Anthony, mother-in-law Frances McGillicuddy, father-in-law Col. William Walton Hopkins, nephew John Christopher Anthony, and uncles Al Anthony and Dick Anthony.
The Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Fort Myers Evangelical Free Church, 6798 Plantation Pines Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33966, (239) 768-0308.
