David Paul Flory's Obituary
David Paul Flory, 45, of Fort Myers, Florida, died unexpectedly on November 6, 2025. A lifelong resident of Fort Myers, David brought energy, laughter, music and dancing wherever he went.
Born on July 4, 1980, to Charles Ray Flory and Rhea Flory, David’s vibrant spirit was evident from an early age. He graduated Cypress Lake High School Center for the Arts, where he was proud to be named Homecoming King. His passion for soccer (Go Lions!) led him to play at Palm Beach Atlantic University, where he built lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories on and off the field.
David’s love for music and dancing shaped much of his life and began at Fred Astaire. As a professional Ballroom Dancer, talented DJ and the proud owner of Island Ballroom and Entertainment on Sanibel; he taught dancing and filled countless events with joy and celebration. He was also a devoted member teaching at the Swing Danz Club of Southwest Florida and USA Dance (at DanceLife and Suzanne's Dance Fitness).
David was deeply devoted to his family. He is survived by his loving wife of nine years, Kimberly Ann Flory; beloved parents, Charles and Rhea Flory of Fort Myers, FL; son, Zane Flory Ryan of Riverhead, NY; brother, Ryan (Shannon) Flory of Cape Coral, FL; sister, Eva (Darren) White of Cape Coral, FL; mother-in-law, Audrey Chuska of Ocala, FL; brother-in-law, Shawn (Misty) Chuska of Mt. Juliet, TN; his cherished nieces and nephews, Chloe, Willow, Bray and Damon and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
David will be remembered for his infectious laugh, love of all genres of music (especially the 50s and 60s), kind heart, and the way he made every person feel like family. His passion for life and the joy he brought to others will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 1:00 PM at First Christian Church, 2061 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33901. His family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the start of the service. Entombment will follow at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens.
