Shelley, Jill, Troy, Kim and all your family, we hug you all up with thoughts and prayers. The time that our family lived in Briarcliff was the best memories ever because of the great neighbors there. David was chief and fearless leader of the neighbors. The fact that he was always there whenever there was a need will never be forgotten. The hay rides that were organized for Halloween were the best. He built us an outdoor basketball court, then proceeded to whup up on my 6'4" husband who loved every minute of it. He remodeled our bathroom for us and always provided a place to hang in the barn just for shooting the breeze. He tossed me off the top of the swamp buggy and always welcomed us on nature rides. Bret will never forget those. He was truly an amazing man. We love you all.
Over the 4 years of more I've worked with David and gotten to know him, we developed a good friendship, and I loved him like a brother. I could joke around with him and have fun times, even while we got through our work day. Sometimes we argued, just like a brother and sister would do, but neither of us remembered the next day what we had even argued about.I will miss David very much.Godspeed, David
Shelly, Troy and all the family, i am truly sorry for the passing of David. He was a great guy and a good friend and i enjoyed talking with him each day.David would give you the shirt right off his back. I had a jetski that i was trying to get rid of and needed to drive it from near the Cape Coral Bridge to Punta Rassa to put it on a trailer. David volunteered to met me there with the trailer. Well, i had engine problems about halfway there and was stuck in the middle of the river. Fortunately, i had my cell phone and could call a tow. Problem is it was going to take about 3 hours for them to get there. I called David and suggested that he go on and just meet me at the ramp in about three hours or so. He said "NO, what if you get here earlier?" So he stayed there the whole time and it took at least three hours. That is the type of guy he was—you could count on him and his word was golden.I am out of town until Sunday and will not be able to attend the memorial service, but wanted you to know how much of a special person he was.I will greatly miss spending time with him.
