David Lefkowitz, 88, of Fort Myers, passed away December 12, 2012.?áHe was born August 11, 1924 in New York City to the late Louis and Sarah (Altman) Lefkowitz.?áHe served our?ácountry in the Army Air Corps during WWII.?áDavid later retired as Chief Dispatcher for the New York City Transit Authority.?áHe and his wife Anna moved to Fort Myers in 1999.?á David loved to play cards, scrabble, wood working, fix things and dance with his wife and daughter.?áHe volunteered for the Jewish Federation of Lee County and Lee Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.?áHe had a great sense of humor and was extremely wise. He is now joined with his wife Anna.?áLeft to cherish his memory are his children, Judi Lefkowitz and her husband Andy Lutkoff, Jerry Lefkowitz and his wife Rose Marie and Larry Lefkowitz; a brother, Marty Lefkowitz and his wife Jo; grandchildren, Elijah, Noah, Samuel, Stacy, Jenny and Randy; and great-grandchildren, Ryan and Heather. There will be a funeral service on Thursday at 12:00pm at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, Florida.?áBurial will follow in the cemetery.?á Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.?áCondolences may be left online at www.fortmyersmemorial.com.
