David N. McKelvey's Obituary
David N. McKelvey, 90, of Ft. Myers, FL, passed away November 8, 2019. He served as an officer in the Navy on USS Stembel, DD-644, during the Korean Conflict.David was a graduate of Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio, and Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. He was a high school business education teacher, department head, and Vocational Coordinator in Euclid, Ohio and then became the founding Director of the Business Division (now “Dean”) as Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, Ohio.During his time in Euclid, he was selected as a Jennings Scholar in Cleveland. He was a 65-year member of the Acacia Masonic Lodge in Cleveland. After retirement, he enjoyed working more than 12 years in retailing with OfficeMax and Michael’s Arts & Crafts.His loving wife of 61 years, Nancy, survives him as well as his daughter, Sally in Texas and son, Scott (Debbie) and grandson, Sean in Missouri.A Graveside service will be celebrated this coming week and details will be announced accordingly.Arrangements for final care have been entrusted to Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555.
