David S. Parkinson, 73, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2012.?á Mr. Parkinson was born in Brooklyn, New York, a son of the late William L. Parkinson and Gertrude Abbott Parkinson.?á David was a retired Vice President of Marketing in the Silver Manufacturing Industry and retired from Reed & Barton Silversmith in Taunton, MA.He was truly devoted to his wonderful family always putting others first. David was an active member of the New Hope Presbyterian Church in Fort Myers and had been a former Boy Scout leader for many years. He loved the game of golf.He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Katharine Parkinson of Fort Myers, Fl; his devoted children, Stephen (Patti) Parkinson of Rhode Island, Richard (Elizabeth) Parkinson of Wyoming, James (Betty) Parkinson of Fort Myers, FL and Nancy (William) Dreisbach of Colorado; his grandchildren, Michaela, Nathan, Matthew, David (Megan), Jeffrey, Daniel, Sarah, Joshua, Gavin and Luke; his great grandson, Leo Parkinson; a brother, Robert (Ann) Parkinson of Missouri.A Memorial Celebration of Life Service will held Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM in New Hope Presbyterian Church, 3825 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers, Florida 33901 with the Rev. Dr. Curt McDaniel officiating. Inurnment will be in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.fortmyersmemorial.com. In Lieu of flowers, Memorial donations can be made in his name to the New Hope Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
