David E. Riffle's Obituary
David Eugene Riffle of Fort Myers, Florida, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on the evening of March 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born October 29, 1946 in Ashland, Ohio to the late Eugene and Anna Bell (Bolin) Riffle. He moved to Fort Myers, Florida in the late 1970s. He was a self-taught brick mason and one of the world’s foremost experts on fine firearms. He had a true passion for the Winchester Model 12, and devoted part of his life writing the: The Greatest Hammerless Repeating Shotgun Ever Built: The Model 12 - 1912-1964. As an outdoorsman, he loved guided hunting adventures for elk, bear, pheasant, and quail.
One of the greatest moments of his life was meeting his beloved wife, Corrine Collins. They traveled together, attended gun shows, enjoyed fine dining, and had relaxing evenings on the patio while in each other's company.
He is survived by his adoring wife and companion of 27 years, Corrine Collins (Riffle); daughters Shannon Cioffi (Deanna Belyeu) and Tara Ziegler (David Baker); and his stepson and close friend, Richard Viola (Jaime).
He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Morgan Foust (Rick), Kyle Cross, Analea Cioffi-Maxwell (Evan), Teagan Cioffi, Joelle Ziegler, and Everlee Mae Viola; great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Hudson Foust; and a lifetime of loving family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Anna Bell (Bolin) Riffle; his brother, Doyle Riffle; his sister Kathleen Daugherty; his mother-in-law, Mae Titus; and his grandchild, Saige Cioffi.
