Dean Nicholas Kontinos' Obituary
Dean Nicholas Kontinos, 58 of Naples, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 6, 1956 in Portsmouth, NH and moved to Naples from Key West in 2003. He retired from the U.S. Navy following 23 years of service where he received many commendations. Mr. Kontinos is survived by his wife of 22 years, Gemma M. Kontinos; his children: Eric Kontinos, currently stationed in Sicily, Nikki Kontinos and Athena Kontinos, both of Naples; his mother, Marjorie Haines Helmbrecht of Merrimack, NH; his father, Nicholas Kontinos of Estero; his sister, Ellen Kontinos-Cilley of Webster, NH and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rebekah Kontinos in 1957. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 8210 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers with burial to follow in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the U.S. Navy.
