Derwood Allen Sippola's Obituary
Derwood Allen Sippola, 71, of Fort Myers, FL, died 11:19 PM, Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Hospice House of Cape Coral. Memorial service will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday September 5, 2015 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers, FL, 33907. Inurnment will be at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorials: Hope Hospice or Wounded Warriors Project. Derwood was born April 10, 1944, in Painesville, OH, the son of Derwood V. and Rose Jane (Bartlett) Sippola. Mr. Sippola had served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He was a recipient of the Vietnam service Cross, Marine Corp Accommodation Medal, Purple Heart and Marine Corp Good Conduct Medal. As a civilian, Derwood pursued a career as a crane operator. He was last employed with Atlas of Naples. He was a member of American Legion Post 351 and did serve as a member of the American Legion Funeral Honors Team. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge. Surviving are his ex-wife, Rosemary Foust of Fort Myers; children, Daniel Britt of Fort Myers, Debbie Sue Borden of N. Fort Myers, Clarrisa Sippola of Port Charlotte; step-children, Richard Beak of Texas, Robert Beak of Texas, Richard Foust of Kansas, Chistopher Foust of Fort Myers, Jeffrey Foust of Tennessee; siblings Harold Bartlett of Lehigh Acres, Dianne Mann of N. Fort Myers, Deborah Williams of Cape Coral, Douglas Sippola of N. Fort Myers; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Sippola was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers Dennis Sippola, Dean Sippola, and David Gebeau.
