Don Scott "Scotty" Rodgers' Obituary
Don Scott “Scotty” Rodgers of Alva, Florida passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 in Hope Hospice of Cape Coral, Florida. He was 87. Scotty was born March 26, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Frederick Scott and Dorothy Jean Rodgers. He worked as a mechanic and owned and operated his own Auto Repair Business. Scotty was a proud veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War. He proudly served his community as a Trustee and President of the Bainbridge Township Fire Department. In his free time, he enjoyed racing stock cars where in years past, he won 2 separate races on the same Memorial Day. After the death of his first wife, he moved to Southwest Florida in 1987. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Fairy Rodgers (1986), second wife, Marge Rodgers (2010) and his sister, Gail Vokoun.Scotty is survived his four children; Debra Diehl (Earl), Donna Lucas (Michael), Scott Rodgers (Zilpha Pisani) and Louis Rodgers. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services are pending.
